About Me

Hello! I’m Matt Stroh (a.k.a “The Strohbot”). An outdoor enthusiast, avid backpacker/hiker/trekker, mountain biker, trail and urban runner, amateur rock and ice climber, recovering lawyer, father of two amazing kids, friend, gear junkie, and a general weekend warrior.

My love of the outdoors was fostered at any early age by my mum, who grew up in North Vancouver and enrolled me in scouts at an early age, and my dad, who would take me for epic walks across Toronto as soon as I was out of a stroller! (He doesn’t believe in driving anywhere. I was probably 6 when I did my first 10k with him!)

The trail is my temple, and I practice my religion fanatically! I’m always down for a hike no matter how foul the weather or difficult the objective. Night hiking up a dormant volcano in torrential rain in the Azores? An epic mission in the Adirondacks? Alpine start in the Sierras? Bring it on!
